Talked and learned about duty - responsibility, helping others, being selfless, etc. Played a game - where one had a "duty" to protect the candy and listened to a Berenstain Bear story called Lend a Help Hand.

Activity ~
Talked and learned about optimism - having a positive attitude, even when things don't always go our way. Played a game of tag where we learned we could be positive, even if those we were chasing got to be in a safe base. We shared our dreams and "filled the buckets" of others by encouraging them in how to attain their goals.

Activity ~
Talked and learned about honor - being trustworthy, honest, and reliable. Played "Leading the Blind" where partners took turns leading each other through an obstacle course. (This definitely required trust... and communication!) Played "Simon Says" and learned to listen and follow directions.

Activity ~
Talked and learned about how we can care for others and animals - accept them, show kindness, selflessness, etc. Made a "Chain of Kindness" where each person wrote on a chain a deed they have done - or want to do - to show kindness. Also played a game called "The Gift of Giving" where one person tried to defend a piece of candy under their chair. If another person got it, that person could choose to keep the candy for themselves or give it away to others. Everyone ended up having a piece of candy because of kindness!

Activity ~
Talked and learned about how we can be fair with others by sharing what we have, treating others as we want to be treated, taking turns, playing by the rules, and taking responsibility for our mistakes. Some of the kids were given a piece of candy, but others were not. We discussed how it felt to be left out and what we can do to be fair.
