Recap of January 2022 Meeting

by Marcy Wheatley

Meeting Date: January 14, 2022

4-H Council Meeting Report

District Retreat will have a toy drive. New toys are requested–not used.  Council is looking for suggestions for fundraisers.  Beef tag-in will be February 11th.

Old Business

Fraser tubing

To be determined by parents. We initially thought we could do tubing on February 11th (our next regularly scheduled meeting), but that is beef tag-in day which will affect Kenna.  We could keep our meeting on the 11th (in Hot Sulphur Springs) and then meet for tubing on Feb 18th or 25th. Or we could move the meeting to the 18th or 25th with tubing.  (For those that weren’t at the meeting, we go tubing on the Old Fraser Tubing Hill and meet at 10:45 am to tube for 60-90 minutes.  Then we meet at Krempins’ house southwest of Granby for a potluck lunch and the 4-H meeting. The club will pay for the 4-H members and one parent to go tubing.)

**Please be thinking about what your schedule is for February and we will see when/if Tish can host.)

New Business

Palisade Fruit Fundraiser

We will again be selling fruit for our fundraiser.  We will sell the same fruit: peaches to be delivered in August, pears to be delivered about beginning of September and pink lady and fuji apples to be delivered in October. We will try to go to the county complex in April or March to sell to those individuals.

Marcy will bring paperwork to the next meeting for members to start selling fruit.  Peach orders are due June 30th and it is probably best to have pears and apples sold by then as well.

Community Service

  1. Tish will check with Jessie at the Hot Sulphur Springs Town Hall for their Easter Egg Hunt.

  2. The club voted to reimburse Marcy for card stock and printer ink. They also voted to reimburse Susan Wall for tray favors.
