The monthly meeting for the Homesteaders 4-H club was held Tuesday, June 30, 2015.
Liberty Mathis called the meeting to order at 4:06. Bailey Monnahan said the prayer. Jill Wilkinson read a devotion from Joshua. Shiloh French said the pledges in the absence of Foster Krempin. Audrey Wheatley said the roll call. Members answered with their favorite flower. There were 12 members total and 5 parents present. Audrey read the minutes from the May meeting. Jill made a motion to accept the minutes. Shiloh seconded it; the motion passed. Ben read the treasurer’s report. We have $1,100 in the scholarship fund and $1,491.08 in the checking account. Bailey moved to accept the treasurer’s report. Jill seconded it; the motion passed.
Old Business:
Payments and spreadsheets for the fruit fundraiser were due to Shelly at the meeting. Shelly made a presentation to Molly Scruggs and Bailey for their senior scholarships. Julie Aprill was unable to be at the meeting for the presentation but will still receive a scholarship from the club.
New Business:
Thank you cards were passed around to be signed for Peachfork Orchards for their tour of their orchard and for Grand Gazette for the awesome advertising they did for our fruit fundraiser.
On July 21st and 22nd, volunteers are needed to help build the small parks by the arenas and to clean the fairgrounds before fair. Start time will be at 9 am both days. Please contact the extension office to sign up to work.
For the next meeting on July 11th, Liberty will say the prayer, Audrey will read the devotion, and Ben will bring refreshments.
Taylah French, Shiloh, and Kenna Wall gave demonstrations after the meeting.
Ben moved to adjourn the meeting at 4:22 p.m. Foster seconded it; the motion passed.
