Minutes for December's Meeting

The regular monthly meeting of the Homesteaders 4-H Club was held December 5, 2011 at the Kremmling Community Church.
President Shyla Bohall called the meeting to order 3:24 p.m. The pledges were led by Audrey Wheatley. Roll call was answered by saying if you liked "Silent Night" or "Away in a Manger". There were 8 members, 4 parents, and no guests in attendance. The minutes were read by Bailey Monnahan. After the minutes were ammended to correct the date of the meeting, Anna Soltis moved to accept the ammended minutes. Liberty Mathis senconded the motion. The motion passed. The Treasurer's report was given by Liberty Mathis. A CLC report was given by Liberty Mathis as well.
New Business:
Adopt some for Christmas? Elfie and/or Bret? Anna Soltis moved to adopt both for $50 and make a goodie basket and fleece blanket. Liberty Mathis seconded the motion. The motion passed.
We will meet on Friday, December 16th at MVCAto tie the blankets.
January Tray Favors?-Maybe snowmen. Monnahans will do January, Aprills will do Febuary.
Debit Card-Bailey Monnahan moved that we get a debit card for our club, and Molly Scruggs seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Old Business:
Stock Show- 4-H day January 18th---to get the group rate we need to RSVP with the extension office by January 4th. Ben Mathis moved that the club pays for our tickets and Anna Soltis seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Announcements:
Today is the last day to enter a design for the county t-shirt competition!!! District Retreat is also having a t-shirt design competition. See newsletter for more info!
Next Council Meeting was changed from January 2nd to January 6th (Friday) at 1:30 at the Extension Office. Next Club Meeting is at noon at KCC.
LDC registration due January 11th! Actual camp-January 27-30th
District Retreat registration due January 20th!!! Actual camp-March 2-4th. Don't forget about your trip assistance!
4-H Fun Night---January 26th 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Extension Office
Leader's Meeting-January 11th 7:00 at the Granby Community Center

January's Schedule

Business Meeting ~ Friday, January 6th ~ 12 p.m.
We will meet at Kremmling Community Church to discuss club business and make tray favors.

January 4-H Council Meeting ~ Friday, January 6th ~ 1:30 p.m.
You are invited to attend the 4-H Council meeting that will be held at the CSU Exhibit Hall in Kremmling for a special meeting on parliamentary procedure.

4-H Leaders Meeting ~ Wednesday, January 11th ~ 7 p.m.
Moms, you are encouraged to attend this meeting that will be held at the Granby Community Center. Please contact the Extension Office by January 3rd if you plan on attending. Dinner and drinks will be provided.

4-H Day at the Stock Show ~ Tuesday, January 17th ~ All Day!
Please contact the Extension Office by January 4th if you would like to attend the 4-H Day at the Stock Show. The club will be paying for your ticket.

4-H Family Fun Night ~ Thursday, January 26th ~ 6 - 7:30 p.m.
Come join and enjoy the fun, food, and fellowship with other 4-Hers at the Extension Hall. Please contact the office if you plan on attending - 724-3436.

Preschool Craft Fair ~ Saturday, December 3rd ~ All Day
More information will be coming on this. We will be selling our pot holders as we did last year. If you have homemade craft items that you would like to sell at our table, you may - just consider donating a portion of your proceeds to the club in "thanks" for paying for the booth fee.

Minutes for November's Meeting

The regular monthly meeting of the Homesteaders 4-H Club was held on October 3, 2011, at the Kremmling Community Church.
President Shyla Bohall called the meeting to order. Pledges were led by Anna Soltis. There were 6 members, 4 parents, and no guests in attendence.
The minutes were read by Molly Scruggs. Julie Aprill moved to accept the minutes, and Ben Mathis seconded the motion. The motion passed.
The treasurers report was read by Liberty Mathis. Ben Mathis moved to accept the motion, and Julie Aprill seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Old Business:
Field Trip Ideas? Phantom of the Opera.
Community Service Ideas? Tray favors.
We have hoddies in. We will try to have them done by next meeting.
Shoe Box ministry update. Packing party at the Christian School on November 11th.
New Business:
Christmas Community Service?
Draw names for Christmas gift exchange.
National Western Stock Show January 7-22. Do we want to go? Yes.
Craft Show-December 3rd. Pot holders ready-distributed to families to sew.

We will be making Thanksgiving tray favors today! Bring a dish of fun food to share with the club for lunch and ready hands to create fun tray favors for our seniors. Call Shawn if you have any questions.


Tom Sawyer ~ Wednesday, November 30th ~ 10:30 .am.
For those who purchased tickets, we will be traveling to the Denver Center Theater Company to watch the Tom Sawyer play. For those interested, we will be walking to 16th Street Mall after the show to eat lunch.

Minutes for October's Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Homesteaders 4-H club was held on October 3, 2011, at the Kremmling Community Church.
President Shyla Bohall called the meeting to order at 3:38 p.m. The pledges were led by Liberty Mathis. Roll call was answered by your favorite holiday. There were 6 members, 5 parents, and 3 guests in attendance.
Bailey Monnahan read the minutes from the May meeting. Ben Mathis moved to approve the minutes and Liberty Mathis seconded the motion. The motion passed.
New Business: Goals for new year? Field Trip Ideas? We came up with a dairy farm and potato chip factory for field trip ideas.
Community Service Ideas? Jay? Some ideas we had were: play games at Silver Spruce/ALC, tray favors, adopt a soldier.

October's Schedule

Business Meeting ~ Monday, October 3rd ~ 3:30 p.m.
We will hold our first business meeting of the new year on Monday, October 3rd at 3:30 p.m. at the Kremmling Community Church.

PLEASE BRING...
National 4-H Week: Please bring the baked goodies of your choice to the meeting. We will mix them up on plates and deliver them to local businesses. I will make a note to bring plates from our concessions tub, plastic wrap, and National 4-H labels.

Knifty Knitters: For those of you who have Knifty Knitters and yarn, please bring them to the meeting, as well. Also, please bring extra knitters, yarn, and hooks for those who do not own their own. We will be knitting baby hats to donate to the Steamboat Springs hospital - as time allows that afternoon before attending the 4-H Council meeting.

Fall Fest ~ Friday, October 28th ~ 5 - 8 p.m.

Serve at the Culbreath 50th Anniversary Luncheon ~ Saturday, October 29th

Minutes for May's Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Homesteader's 4-H club was held at the Grand County Extension Office on May 2, 2011.

President Shyla Bohall called the meeting to order at 2:35 p.m. The pledges were led by Liberty Mathis. Roll call was answered by your favorite season. There were 7 members, 4 parents and no guests in attendance. Minutes were read by Bailey Monnahan. Anna Soltis moved to amend the minutes from saying "June 16th" to "July 16th". Liberty seconded the motion and the motion passed. Anna Soltis read the treasurers report. Ben Mathis moved to accept the treasurers report and Liberty Mathis seconded the motion. The motion passed. Liberty Mathis led the song, "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt". Devotion was led by Bailey Monnahan on Psalm 100:3.

Ben Mathis gave a report on the trip to Lonesome Stone.

Old Business:
Gymkhanas-July 23th and August 20th-Who is organizing them? Marcy Monnahan and the Aprills will do July and Shelly Mathis will do August.

Jay?-If you have time, it would be nice if you could drop by and visit him. Shelly's looking into getting him a framed eagle picture and Liberty will look into birdfeeders at TriRiver.

Cloverbud Camp-11 more days!!!!!! Is everyone ready? WE have 7 kids signed up.

Community Service at National Park?-Shelly will let us know when/what.

Kum and Go Booklets? Where are we with that? Do we want to sit in front of Kum and Go again?-We're planning for the 20th of May from 3:30-5:30.

New Business:
Ford Truck Tickets-Do we want to sit in front of a store and sell them?-Incorporate tickets into the Gymkhana concessions.

Sewing Ideas? What direction do we want to take this? Block of the month? Every two months all day sew at Bohall house? Clothes? Home décor?

Minutes for April's Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Homesteaders' 4-H Club was held on April 11, 2011 at the Extension Office.

President Shyla Bohall called the meeting to order at 2:07 p.m. Pledges were led by Liberty Mathis. Due to the absence of the secretary, Bailey Monnahan, Anna Soltis filled in as secretary. Anna Soltis wrote down attendance. There were 5 members, 2 parents, and no guests in attendance.

Anna Soltis read the minutes. Ben Mathis moved to accept the reading of the minutes as read, and Liberty Mathis seconded the motion. Motion passed. Anna Soltis read the treasurer's report. Liberty Mathis moved to accept the treasurer's report. Julie Aprill seconded the motion and the motion passed.

Ben Mathis led the song: "The Beaver Song." Shyla Bohall led the devotion on Psalm 62:6-8.

Reports- Liberty Mathis gave a report on District Retreat.

Old Business
Shyla checked on how many Kum and Go books we had left.
The Cloverbud Day Camp will be on May 13th 2:30-5:30. Some details were discussed.

New Business
It was decided that the Bohalls will be doing the tray favors in April, the Aprills will be doing them in May, and the Mathis family will be doing them in June.

The Club will be doing concessions for Gymkhana on June 16th and on August 20th. Shelly Mathis will be in charge of the June concessions and Shawn Bohallwill be in charge of the August concessions.

The Club will be going to Lonesome Stone for a field trip this month on April 22nd. On that date, members will meet at the Extension office at 12:30 p.m.

Shelly Mathis mentioned that her family is planning on doing a community service at the National Park and asked if our club like to participate. It was decided we would try to plan a time when the club could help.

Above and Beyond Sewing has donated two sewing machines to the Club. Club members signed a homemade thank-you card for them.

Announcements
The next meeting will be at the Extension Office on May 2nd at 2:30 p.m. Club members will be doing demonstrations then.

The next Council meeting will also be on May 2nd.

Ford truck tickets - Tickets will go on sale June 1.

Kremmling Days - A committee to design the float is going to be on April 19th at 5:30 p.m. The location TBA.

Everyone stayed afterwards to help make tray favors as a community service.

We will tour Lonesome Stone in Granby and learn about raising alpacas and making yarn at 10:30 a.m. Meet there or call if you need a ride. Dress accordingly for the outdoors.

President Shyla Bohall called the meeting to order at 12:37 p.m. The pledges were led by Shyla Bohall. Roll Call was answered by your favorite drink. There were 5 memebers, 2 parents, and no guests in attendence.

The song "I'm a Little 4-H'er" was led by Shyla Bohall. Audrey Wheatley gave the devotion on John 3:16.

Fair Book Ads-Does everyone have theirs turned in?
Camp Tobin Fundraiser, coin wars, donation to council? It was decided that we would donate $19.10 to Camp Tobin, $150 to Council, and $21.90 to coin wars.
Cloverbud Day Camp-May 6th 2:30-5:30 p.m. The theme is American Revolution.
Tray Favors-Aprills=April Mathis=May Demonstrations at April meeting. Is everyone going to be ready?

Minutes for February's Meeting

The regular monthly meeting of the Homesteader's 4-H Club was held on Febuary 7, 2011, at the Kremmling Community Church.

President Shyla Bohall called the meeting to order at 2:39 p.m. The pledges were led by Liberty Mathis. Roll call was answered by your favorite movie. There were 7 members, 4 parents and no guests in attendance.

The minutes from the December meeting, special January meeting, and the January meeting, were read by Bailey Monnahan. Anna Soltis moved to change "It was decided that the club would adopt a hospital resident (Jay) to support for the year," to "a hospital resident (Jay) to support for the year, with a budget of $150." The motion was seconded by Ben Mathis. The motion passed.

Liberty Mathis moved to change both "…in Hot Sulphur Springs at the Town Hall," to "…in Hot Sulphur Springs at the Town Hall on January 3," and "…Shyla Bohall, Bailey Monnahan, Anna Soltis, Liberty Mathis, and Julie Aprill," to "…Shyla Bohall, Bailey Monnahan, Anna Soltis, and Liberty Mathis," for the special January meeting minutes. Anna Soltis seconded the motion. The motion passed.

Julie Aprill moved to change the January meeting minutes, to add "Liberty Mathis led the pledges" and "The Treasurer's report was dispensed as well." Anna Soltis seconded the motion. The motion passed.

The song was led by Julie Aprill, which was "Happy All the Time". Devotion was led by Anna Soltis on Psalm 19:1-4. Bailey Monnahan gave a report on LDC.

Old Business:
Officer's Training-Who is going? Have you let the extension office know?
Anyone want to build snowmen?-We will not be building snowmen for the hospital residents today.

New Business:
Who wants to do the March tray favors?-Bohalls will do March, Aprills will do April, Mathis' will do May.

Fair Book Ads-we have them now .

Kum & Go Books-Do we want to set up a time to sell them together in front of Kum and Go? We decided on 3:30-5:30 on March 11.

Demonstrations will be given at the April meeting.

Trip Assistance-if you are going to to District Retreat and want to use your trip assistance it is due tonight! New rules, you have to request it before council.

Camp Tobin Fund Raiser-1910, Liberty Mathis moved to donate $191 to Camp Tobin Renovation. Julie Aprill seconded the motion. The motion passed.

Cloverbud Day Camp-When? Where? Etc. May 6th, from 2:30-5:30 was decided for the date for the Cloverbud Camp. The theme is going to be Revolutionary/American.

Julie Aprill moved to reimburse Marcy Monnahan and Shelley Mathis for the surge protectors they bought. Liberty Mathis seconded the motion. The Motion passed.

Minutes for January's Meeting

The regular monthly meeting of the Homesteaders 4-H club was held on January 17, 2011, at the Kremmling Community Church.

President Shyla Bohall called the meeting to order. The pledges were led by Liberty Mathis. The reading of the minutes were dispensed until the Febuary meeting. The reading of the Treasurer's report was dispensed as well.

Old Business: It was decided that everyone would bring a little goodie for Jay every meeting. Also, every other month the club would buy something for him such as a tee-shirt, calendar, etc.

New Business: We decided that the club would reimburse every member who was attending a camp such as LDC, District Retreat, ect. for $25 with the exception of $50 for CWF.

Announcements:
Stock Show-this Wednesday. We are leaving the Extension office at 8:00 a.m.
Next Council Meeting-Febuary 7th in Hot Sulphur at 7:00.
Next Club Meeting-Febuary 7th at 2:30, sewing at 3:30.

There was a special meeting called to order after the Grand County 4-H Council meeting in Hot Sulphur Springs at the Town Hall on January 3, 2011.
Shyla Bohall called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. Shyla Bohall, Bailey Monnahan, Liberty Mathis, and Anna Soltis were in attendance.
It was decided that the club would pay for Stock Show tickets for all the members that attended Stock Show. The meeting was adjourned 7:38 p.m.

January Meeting

Monday, January 17th, 2011:
Location: Kremmling Community Church

Business Meeting ~ 3:30 p.m.
We will quickly discuss any current business and complete tray favors.

Knifty Knitters Night ~ 4:30 - 7:00 p.m.
Open to ALL Grand County 4-H'ers
We will be making baby hats for the Steamboat Springs Hospital. Our club has some extra knifty knitters and yarn, or bring your own if you like. They are very easy to make and no knitting experience is necessary. We can teach you how to make the baby hats.

Please bring finger foods to share with everyone and be prepared for a fun night of visiting, watching a movie, and doing something for others.
