Minutes for May 2014 Meeting

by Secretary Julie Aprill

The monthly meeting of the Homesteaders 4-H club was held on May 9, 2014.

President Bailey Monnahan called the meeting to order at 2:07 P.M. There were nineteen members, six adults, and no guests in attendance.  The prayer was led by Sierra Bensing.  The devotion was led by Abbie Zick on 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.  Julie Aprill took the roll call, members were to respond with the name of a current or old pet.  Julie Aprill read the minutes, Abbie Zick moved that we accept them and Foster Krempin seconded it; the motion passed.  Liberty Mathis gave the Treasurer’s report, Abbie Zick moved that we accept it and Foster Krempin seconded it; the motion passed.  Molly Scruggs gave an update on the 4-H council.

Old Business:
How many boxes of peaches has everyone sold?  We have made it to our original goal of 150 boxes and now are working towards 200.  For our fundraiser at Ace Hardware in Granby, we have enough donation jars and enough volunteers.  We will be making baked goods to be given out by donation.  Great job to all the people who added or dropped their projects on time!  Members are to let Shelly know when they are ready for their Kum and Go booklets.

New Business:
Make sure to turn in your peach paperwork at the next meeting on June 27th.  The Bensing/Woods and Tish Linke will be collaborating for the summer tray favors.  Demonstrations will be done at our June and July meetings.  Due to our large numbers, registration with Shelly is required.  For those wanting to make or ride on the 4-H float, meet on May 30th at the Extension Hall at 6:00 p.m. to build it.
