The monthly meeting for the Homesteaders 4-H club was held Friday, January 8, 2016.
President Liberty Mathis called the meeting to order at 1:10 p.m. Jill Wilkinson led the prayer. Liberty read a devotion from Job 22:21-22. Foster Krempin led the pledges. Audrey Wheatley did the roll call. Members were to respond with the favorite thing about Christmas break. There were 11 members and 5 parents/leaders present. Audrey read the minutes for November. Shiloh French moved to accept the minutes with the amendment that Shelly order 100 cookies from Starla. Foster seconded it; the motion passed. Ben Mathis read the treasurer’s report. The updated fund report is coming next month due to lack of time. Foster moved to accept the treasurer’s report. Sego seconded it; the motion passed. Liberty provided an update on the council.
Old Business:
For the Granby tree lighting we need a trashcan and 2 tables.
Taylah moved that we will pay half for family members for tubing. Kenna seconded it; the motion passed. We are planning to go tubing next year.
New Business:
Stock Show tickets are $15 each. Ben moved we pay half for each members and parents tickets which would be $7.50. Flint seconded it; the motion passed.
Paperwork for fruit fundraiser will be available at the next meeting.
The club planning committee is planning a cloverbud trip to Teepee Creek.
The club will knit baby hats in March and we may do at Cliffview Assisted Living Center.
For community service it was suggested that we support Sew It Seamz. Jill moved we give a $400 sewing scholarship to Sew It Seamz to be used for tuition and/or fabric. Foster seconded; the motion passed.
