Minutes for May 2015 Meeting

by Vice President Molly Scruggs for Secretary Audrey Wheatley (who was absent)

The monthly meeting of the Homesteaders 4-H club was held on May 8, 2015. President Liberty Mathis called the meeting to order at 1:15 pm. Molly Scruggs led the prayer and Liberty Mathis did the Devotion on Psalms 27:14. Foster Krempin led the pledges. In absence of Audrey Wheatly, Ben Mathis took the roll call and everyone answered with another country they would want to live in. Ben Mathis also read the minutes. Bailey Monnahan moved to accept the reading of the minutes and Shiloh French seconded it; motion passed. Shiloh moved to table the treasurer’s report and Foster seconded it; motion passed.

Old Business
Those who attended gave reports on the field trips to the Peachfork Orchard and the Fraser Rec Center. There were also reports given on the Cloverbud Night with Caitlyn. It’s time to sell fruit! If you haven’t already done so, you need to call people who bought fruit last year.

New Business
The graduate scholarships were discussed. We decided that because of her involvement in the club for so many years that we would give Julie Aprill a scholarship. Ben Mathis moved to give Julie a scholarship and Foster seconded it; motion passed. Molly Scruggs and Bailey Monnahan will also be receiving scholarships. Each scholarship will be $250 and they will be given at the ice cream party to be held at next month’s meeting.

We discussed the Council parade floats for Hot Sulphur Days and for the Grandby 4th of July parades. The council will be decorating t-shirts at the next meeting on June 1st.

The Gymkhana park is on the way and the council needs donations. Bailey moved that the club donate $350 to the park and Ben seconded it; motion passed.

Bailey volunteered to do next month’s prayer and Jill will do next month’s devotion. Shiloh offered to decorate a graduation cake to go with the ice cream.

Bailey and Audrey will be giving their demonstrations after the meeting.

Announcements

June demonstrations are Shiloh, Taylah, and Kenna. July demonstrations are Molly, Ben, and Jill.
